Bosworth’s Buna-N diaphragm, SKU # G4/5 DIAP.-FDA, is the recommended diaphragm for Guzzler motorized pumps used to create vacuum for maple sap collection.
It is made from an FDA-approved, food-safe Buna nitrile rubber formulation. Depending on use, diaphragm life can range from approximately 250,000 cycles to well over 1 million cycles.
Diaphragm life can be greatly reduced if the pump is subjected to backpressure over 2 psi or if a too much ice is forced through the pump. With normal use, Buna-N diaphragms can often last through much of a maple season, though many users should expect to replace them once or twice during the season.
Bosworth’s G4/5 style diaphragms fit all Bosworth 400 and 500 series pumps, regardless of diaphragm material.
